Oil Towns, Goodbyes, God's Providence

Well this is where I have spent the last 3 months, in a town overflowing with excitement, in:

And now 3 months are over, and I have finished what I came here to do (that'd be organizing an extremely boring computer database).

I feel accomplished...or something.

This is my last day in Whitecourt and this morning they shocked me with a "Good Luck Kim" cake and a Thank You with a Walmart gift card! How sweet is that? All the guys gave me a hard time (as usual) and said goodbyes!

Now that I have completed this adventure I move on to another - the same boring job in:

As much as most people would question the goodness (ha!) of living/working in either of these lovely locations, I really believe that having these two contracts has been a real gift from God.

And God is Good!

God has used this job over the last year to provide me with a big chunk of the cash I need to enter this school. And teach me patience. He has been providing for me in advance!

Amen.

Following the Ants

Fantastic article on Relevant today! I could never have quessed that there'd be so much to learn from a-n-t-s! Check it out and just see if your heart doesn't soften towards the little monsters just a smidge! Maybe God does have a reason for creating them afterall! (Except for fire ants, those can not possibly have a good purpose - dang those things hurt!)

How beautiful! Thank God that He is on the way, that He has come to save, and that He uses us in His plot of mercy and redemption!

Emerge

Well I survived a weekend of no sleep, dozens of crazy youth, and many hours driving! I had a lot of fun this last weekend in Calgary at ABC's (my old bible college) Emerge conference. Loved hanging out with all my jr high girls, catching up with Nate and Nancy from DTS, and seeing bible college friends. But I gotta say, it was impossible to balance doing all that! Sooo many people, so little time!
So if I missed you, I'm sorry, wish I had a lot longer.
To anyone who hasn't heard, I'm heading off again. This time going to Boise, ID and then on to the Philippines as I study and learn the art of midwifery! (FYI: midwifery is being a midwife - providing pregnancy care, delivering babies, and doing check-ups on mothers and infants. I've had some pretty entertaining guesses, so hope that clears things up!)

June-September - Boise, ID. Midwifery School academics.
September 06-September 07 - Manila, Philippines. Practicum; providing midwifery care in the Welfareville slum.
It's a REALLY long time to be gone, it scares me a bit, and I'm really going to miss all of you my wonderful friends/fam! Of course if anyone gets the itch to check out Manila, and maybe some tropical islands and beaches, I'd sure love to have visitors - something to think about!!
Gotta go, the weekends sleeplessness has taken a toll on me, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
